Sunday walk

On Sunday we had Grandma and Grandpa and Jimmy come for dinner. We had a lovely barbeque and afterwards we decided to go on a walk around our neighborhood. The weather was nice so we went the long way around to the park. We let the kids play for a little bit. Then we went back to our house, where pie was waiting for dessert!

Water!

Today we went to a park that was sooo awesome! They had water spurting out of the ground all around and one giant one in the middle. The playground was really cool too. We went with a bunch of families from our ward. Ethan and Adam didn't want to go in the water at first, but warmed up to it after awhile. We had a picnic on the grass and played and enjoyed the sun! Megan and Jonathan would have been just fine staying there until it got dark, but we had to leave after spending 3 hours there, so that I could put Ethan and Adam down for a nap. Adam was so tired by the time we got home, he even fell asleep in the car. Ethan was still chalk-full of energy and shouting "Fruh"(which means truck) every time we passed a semi-truck on the way home. The park is in Mountain House which is about one exit down from Tracy. We definitely will have to go to this one again, especially since it is free!

He Walks!!

Yesterday Adam decided that he would try walking without any encouragement from others! He would just stand up and take from 4 to 10 steps at a time! Our little Peanut is growing up so fast!

This Video was taken today, he didn't take as many steps as yesterday. Also here is another one of those scrunchy faces we love of Adam's.

Family Night

On Monday Megan read a story out of the Friend for the lesson, Jonny picked the song and I got to choose the game. It was a lovely evening so Cory said we should have Family night outside. When it was time for me to pick the game, I of course chose one we could all do outside... SOCCER! Megan and myself were one team, and Jonny, Cory and Ethan made up the other team. I guess Adam was on my team since I was holding him. Anyway, Jonny's team won with a score of 5 goals to 4 goals! Here are a few pictures of our game.

Oodles of Noodles!

One of our favorite, quick lunches is Top Ramen with veggies added in. The kids love it and gobble it up, including their vegetables. They were being silly with their noodles so of course I had to take a couple of pictures.

Bibbit!

I found a frog in my garden on Sunday. I was going to post this earlier this week but the stupid internet was going way too slow. Well he was a tree frog and I found him sitting on a giant leaf of my zucchini plant. Ethan was scared of it and everytime it jumped, he jumped too and got real nervous. Adam was very curious but didn't really like it when I tried to make him touch the frog. Megan and Jonny were so excited and loved holding it and giggled every time he leaped out of there hands. He was cute but of course we put him back where we found him when we were done holding him.

Week in Review

Tuesday July 1st To Grandmother's house we go!
So we drove to Grandma and Grandpa Pattens house Tuesday evening, Cory met us there after he finished work. Shawn arrived from the airport later that night. The kids didn't get to see him until morning, but the adults got to hang out.

Wednesday July 2nd Plum Good!
We spent some time in the morning enjoying a plum or two. Turns out that Adam loves plums! He kept picking them off the ground and shoving them into his mouth. I was a little worried that he and Ethan would get the runs, but no worries there luckily! Mostly that day we just hung out and did a little gaming.

Thursday
July 3rd Beach Day!
Well we tried leaving early to get the beach sooner, but it was a little hard to get some of the boys to get up after staying up late and playing video games. It was the most perfect day at the beach. The sun was shining, the water was shimmering and the sand was warm and ready to play in. I think we all had a huge blast that day! Shawn found that there were a ton (buh-jillion) of sand crabs swimming around in the water. Jonny and Megan both enjoyed the sand and running in and out of the water. Cory and Shawn went boogie boarding and Jimmy tried it too. Grandma went on a very long walk with Butters, we were wondering if she had walked all the way to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk! Grandpa mostly hung out, took pictures and worked on lowering his blood pressure! Ethan really enjoyed the sand, but not the water. Adam did not enjoy the sand or the water. Actually I did not put him in the water cause he was already disliking the sound of the ocean waves. And me... I stood on the shore with Adam in one arm and the camera in my other, trying to capture Cory on the perfect ride.

Friday July 4th
Parade/Party/Fireworks!
Well this day started out early. We were at the parade site about 9:30am. We had fun, Ethan really enjoyed all the vehicles that went by. One of my favorites was these people riding around in mini bathtubs! After the parade a bunch of us went shopping. Pam and I took off for Toysrus to buy a toy or two for Adam's birthday and pick up a couple of other things for the barbeque. Cory, Shawn and Jimmy were on a quest to buy some sort of xbox game. Later we had a delicious barbeque and gave Shawn his presents and sang to him and had cake. Megan drew a picture of Shawn with these huge toenails. Later she explained to Shawn that she did that cause he was mean when he called her "Foo-foo Bunny", and "Poopy pants"! We also set up a Pinata for a game to play. Shawn controlled the pinata while the kids took turns trying to whack it down, it finally came down when it was Shawn's turn! Then a while later we headed out to see the fireworks. We had a BLAST!

Saturday July 5th
Movie Madness!
Everyone decided it would be a great day to see a movie. Cory, Shawn, Jimmy and their Dad went to see Iron Man and at the same time I took Megan and Jonny to go see Wall-E. The kids and I loved Wall-E and recommend it to everyone! It was such a great movie and if you've seen it then you can guess which part is our favorite (the one with the humans)! A funny thing was when Wall-E puts the brazier on his face and a kid in the audience said "That's like Mommy!" That was so funny, I couldn't stop laughing!

Sunday July 6th The amazing Diving Birds!
I don't have any pictures for this day cause my memory card was full. In the evening we went for a walk. We crossed the train tracks and went down the flood control path to this small park area in Niles. It was neat cause there was this large pond(or maybe it was a small lake?) and it had shallow parts where there were trees growing up out of the water. Then we walked to a small dock on the water where we waited for the sun to go behind the trees a little and then the white birds came. Soon the birds were soaring and then all of sudden it looked as if they stalled in mid-flight and then they would dive down into the water to try and catch their evening supper. It was fun to watch them all. Then we headed back to the house where Grandma baked some cookies and put ice cream between them like an ice cream sandwich.

Monday July 7th At an End!
We woke up feeling somewhat sad, knowing that our vacation was almost over and everyone would be going back to their homes. For lunch Shawn decided he would really like to have Round Table, so the boys went to pick that up, yummy! Shawn had to leave for the airport around 6pm. So just a little before that Grandpa and Grandma gave Adam his birthday presents and we sang to him while he stared at the flame of the candle in his birthday cookie. We were all bummed to see Shawn leave, we had such a great time with him. Cory and I finally were on the road, toward home, around 10pm. We were sad to go and it took us awhile to say goodbye and actually get in the cars and leave.

Tuesday July 8th Happy Birthday Adam!
Adam got some clothes from us. But the best one was his new Safari truck with lion and tiger! He really likes this truck. First, it is easy to push, second the animals come out and he can play with them, and third, it makes great music that he can bounce to. We looked everywhere for this toy! Cory finally found it after visiting 6 other stores! Hurray for Daddy!!

I made this cake in the shape of a peanut because Adam is our Peanut! It's chocolate on the inside and peanut butter frosting on top. Adam loved eating his cake, even though it was late and he was tired.
