The Busiest Week!

Saturday October 25th
So on Saturday we had Cory's parents come out to stay at our house for the weekend. We all went to the Pumpkin Patch here in town and had a blast! The corn maze was so much fun. Luckily we didn't lose anyone!

Sunday, October 26th
On Sunday we saw the kids in their primary program. They both did a good job. Megan had remembered her lines from heart and Jonny was singing for almost all the songs. At on point he stopped standing up for the songs and we could barely see his head over the sacrament table. It was so much fun to see them up there and see how much they have grown, seems almost like yesterday when they were both in Nursery together. Well later we held an Open House upstairs in our school room. Megan and Jonny helped set up their projects and work that they have been working on so far this year. It was a lot of fun for them to show off their work to their Grandparents, Jimmy and their Daddy.

Later that night we celebrated my 31st Birtthday! Yay I'm getting OLD! I made myself a caramel apple cake, soooo good! I got to open presents, oh and we had dinner in a pumpkin!

Monday, October 27th
So Monday was my birthday and I had planned on just hanging out in my pj's all day and playing my new game that Cory and the kids got me. I was on the phone with my mom, who sang to me, then I was on the phone with Jada, who sang to me, and then I had to pick up the other line cause Cory was calling and I didn't want him to worry about me if I wasn't picking up. Well I started talking to Cory and then all of a sudden he pops out of the garage door! I screamed! What a stinker, he took the day off but made it seem like he had left for work already. He came in with a Hello-kitty balloon and a small roses plant. After the shock wore off and I dried my tears of joy and surprise, I got dressed so we could go out for lunch. Of course we went to Rubios, I get a coupon every year for a free meal for my birthday! Yummy Mahi Mahi wrap salad!
Then Cory asked if I wanted to go peek at a few cars to replace the dead mini-van. We weren't planning on buying anything, just test drive and check the Toyota Siennas out. Wow, these vans are nice! Well one thing led to another... and I ended up getting a van for my birthday! It's a Toyota Sienna LE 2005 in silver with only 26,000 miles on it!
Tuesday, October 28th
It was a mad dash for the finish line. I worked on costumes all day long! We still didn't get them all done, but when you're already a half an hour late to the Trunk-or-Treat party, you gotta call it quits. The costumes turned out great anyway. Jonny was the one that wasn't quite finished. He's supposed to have knee armor and gauntlets on his arm and of course there is no visor on his helmet. But he looks cool anyway! Adam kept staring at the whirlwind of activities around him and Ethan was scared of everything and everyone, that is until they dropped a candy into his bucket! Even though we were late, we had a great time and we are going to Grandma and Grandpa's Trunk-or-treat party on Thursday night.
Wednesday, October 29th
We finally picked out our 6 pumpkins, luckily there were still a few left at the store! We got slimy and gooey. Megan and Jonathan pulled out their pumpkin's guts on their own. Cory helped them carve their pumpkins. I drew some pictures of pumpkin carving ideas and let Ethan pick one. Cory and I carved Adam's. Cory's pumpkin is really cool all lit up but it looks cool in the daytime too because it looks like it has this nasty looking scar on its face. And I guess mine looks like some sort of monkey, at least that's what Ethan thinks!

Sneak Peek

Yesterday at church I found out that they moved our Halloween Trunk-or-Treat, from Friday to Tuesday the 28th! Ack! I now have fewer days to finish the kids' costumes. So I spent a lot of time last night and into the wee hours of the morning, working on Jonny's Boba Fett Jetpack! I did the cutting of the pieces out during the day on Sunday and assembled most of it last night. I finished the main missile this morning. Next step will be spackling and then painting. His armor and helmet also need to be painted. I am going crazy with all the little things that make up each of their costumes. Luckily Megan's is done and Ethan and Adam's are close to being finished.

Here is a sneak peek of Jonny trying on his armor. Cory did a awesome job of shaping each piece.
An earlier stage of me building the jetpack.

She's Like the Wind!

Well yesterday Cory taught Megan how to ride her bike!
Here's how Megan started out. She was a little nervous but well protected with her new helmet, knee and elbow pads on.
Soon she began to get the hang of it, and started learning how to balance.

It amazes me how fast she caught on to riding without training wheels. Poor Cory sure got a work out chasing after, he had to help her keep from crashing into parked cars. She didn't learn to turn and stop until they practiced today. Now all she's got to do is learn to start off by herself. She was very eager to practice today. I think Jonny wants to learn next.
I didn't get any pictures or videos from today, but hopefully I can tomorrow when she practices again.

Big Bertha "A Veggie Tale"

When I go to water my garden, I first check for any food that needs to be collected and then I water my garden. Well after I picked a few tomatoes I bent down to pick up the hose. And then I saw it... the most enormous zucchini I have ever seen. Somehow this one had escaped my eye, laying low against the fence and has been growing for some time. Big Bertha (the name I decided to call my freaky zucchini) is 24 inches long and at the widest part, 14 1/2 inches around! It's bigger than a new born baby!! In fact this zucchini is bigger than Jonathan when he was born!! According to the Wii balance board, Bertha weighs close to 10 pounds!!Bertha is born!

Me and my zucchini!

While I was watering I noticed a big black widow crawl up the side of the house to get away from my watering! Yuck I hate black widow spiders! I think I'm gonna have to wear gloves when picking veggies from my garden (by the way I know tomatoes and zucchinis are fruits).

Blue Angels

So yesterday Cory took Megan and Jonathan to San Fransisco to see the Blue Angels. Cory and the kids drove to the Bart station in Pleasanton and then rode the Bart into San Fransisco. They met up with Grandpa and Jimmy. They did a lot of walking, starting at pier 1 going a bit past pier 45 (Fisherman's Wharf) and back again, about 5 miles round-trip!Megan and Jonny being super cute on the Bart train to San Fransisco.

The Blue Angels came in real low and really fast!

This picture is of two Blue Angels that came at each other and then at the last second they turn their wings so they wouldn't crash, Cory snapped this photo with perfect timing!

Jimmy as the new Peter Parker!

On the way home Jonny asked if he could eat a snack on the Bart train. Cory had told them that there were cameras and he might get into trouble. Well Cory said that it might be okay if he kept the wrappers in his backpack. Jonny almost stuck his whole head into the opening of his backpack so he could eat his snack, much like a horse's feedbag!

Other happenings this week...Family Game night! Yay Blokus!

Adam sits in a drawer

Ethan and Jonny campout in the hallway(Jonny said they wanted to sleep in the hall because he was scared of "Gremlins"). Watch out Jonny... Ethan's bum is awfully close to your face!!

Octoberfest

So I have decorated our house with what little Halloween decorations we have. Although the kids received a Spooky Halloween craft from Grandma and Grandpa! So right after breakfast this morning, Megan and Jonathan wanted to assemble it. It turned out pretty cool, even the hot glue gun stringy webs are cool. This is now our table center piece!

Also today Ethan and Adam performed a small jig upon our kitchen table. This was quite entertaining!

Ethan has been carrying and wearing Cory's dress shoes around for the past two days. Adam has been so in love with his blanket, he's like Linus. Adam is also very fond of his belly button lately. I love seeing him pull his shirt up in search of his cute little belly button. Jonathan has been obsessed with his new helmet, elbow and knee pads. He loves to put them on and fall down onto the ground and pop back up and tell us that it didn't hurt at all. I don't have a picture of him sporting his gear, but Adam wanted to try it on...

The kids have been having fun with an old box and transforming it into so many different things: a house, a barn, a pirate ship... the list goes on. Even the babies love to explore the box. All hale The Box!!

And just for fun... Ethan with a funny Mustache and the babies sharing an apple
