Mulgrath!

So tonight we watched The Spiderwick Chronicles movie. The kids and I had read the books a few months ago and were very excited to watch it. From the opening credits, Ethan was scared. All it had was a little music and it was kinda darker screen, yet he was already saying "uh cary" which translates to... Scary! Megan was very scared at one point, even though we had read the books. I guess the movie was a lot more intense and it did add a bunch of other stuff than the book had. Jonny was pretty cool throughout the movie, except when it came to big bad Mulgrath. He's the super bad creature in this tale. It's so funny cause they hardly make a peep when Cory showed them some pieces of Lord of the Rings, such as the Orcs!
Anyway... as they had a quiet story read to them just before bed, Cory snuck into the boy's room and hid under Jonny's bed with a blanket over him. Jonny and Ethan were sent to bed, and Adam was already snuggled into his bed. I hear from the hallway, screams! Cory, the stinker, had stuck his hand out from under the bed, with the blanket covering him, and grabbed Jonny while saying in a deep growly voice, "Muuulgrath"!!! Jonny screamed and Ethan wouldn't stop even when Cory took the blanket off of himself and showed him that it was only Daddy. Of course he tried to do a similar thing with Megan. He crawled into her room with the blanket on himself and growled "Mulgrath" and Megan said, "I know it's you Daddy!" Can't fool that girl! Well it was a fun night, let's just hope we don't have any kids with nightmares tonight!

Cory's Birthday!

So we celebrated Cory's 33rd birthday yesterday! We started by greeting him at the door, when he came home from work, and crowned him "Daddy King". After a delicious dinner of lasagna, we gathered 'round to sing him happy birthday. The cake turned out decent, though we had no candles since we used all 33 of them last Sunday when we had a mini-celebration with his parents and brother. After cake and ice cream, he opened the rest of his presents. Megan and Jonny had been working on theirs all week and were very excited to finally reveal them to him.

I give a pat on the back to myself for coming up with this gift!

Tibby!

So today Ethan was pointing at the cups that I had left on the table from last night. Yesterday afternoon Grandma, Grandpa, Jimmy and Butters all came over to have a little celebration for Cory's birthday. Anyway he pointed to the one that Grandpa used and said "Papa's" and then pointed to Jimmy's cup that he had used and said "Tibby's"! I hadn't heard him say Jimmy's name before. So Jim... you are now called Tibby! This picture is from yesterday after church. Ethan found Cory's camel pack and wanted to drink out of it, so Cory helped him put it on his back.

Varooom!

None of my children have ever been scared of the vacuum. They are always drawn to it somehow. They don't run in fear, but instead run towards it. Adam is this way especially. He is constantly trying to grab the vacuum and chases me around the house. When I vacuum in the same room as him, he will just sit there as I practically run him over to get him to move. He recently found that riding on the vacuum is even more enjoyable! Adam also was quite happy when I helped him push the vacuum around a bit.

The Crib Party!

So last night we switched Adam into the bigger crib. He was actually getting a little big for the junior crib. Cory finally had fixed Ethan's old crib. For some reason the boys are all obsessed with Cory's phone. Maybe it's the cool music and videos, or maybe it's the cheesy race car game he's got on it. Cory gave Adam his phone and turned on the music. Adam liked dancing in his new crib, it is so much springier than his little one. Again the video(Adam dancing) is not loading, so if it ever does I'll post a new one.

Old crib..............................Going into the new crib

Snails for dinner?

Last night I made tuna tarragon. Jonathan was complaining that he was so starving but when he saw what we were eating, he refused to eat. Apparently sea shell pasta looks too much like snails because he kept insisting that it was snails and that he was not going to eat it. We tried telling him that it was just pasta, tuna and mayonnaise, he still wouldn't believe us. Cory then tried retelling the story "Green Eggs and Ham" to try and get Jonny to just try the pasta. Jonny would not, could not eat them Here or There, he would not eat them anywhere. Jonny would not eat them in a box, he would not eat them with a fox... until we told him that it was the same pasta that Daddy likes from Sweet Tomatoes! "Oh, why didn't you just tell me?" Goodness me, if I had only known to tell him that it was the same as Sweet Tomatoes, I could have saved so much time and frustration! Silly me! I don't think I've ever seen Jonny gobble anything down like he did with his tuna tarragon last night!

Swimmin' around

Today we went swimming. This included Ethan and Adam. Adam's first time was actually yesterday. I guess I didn't take him swimming last summer because he was such a brand new baby. Well he loves it but was scared at first because Ethan was screaming his head off. I put Ethan in the water with wings on and let go. Maybe he screamed cause he couldn't keep his feet under him or that the water was a little cold, he was cool after I got in and held onto him. Adam calmed down as soon as Ethan did. Ethan loved having Cory swim with us today. He kept trying to get Cory to throw him into the air. Megan and Jonny loved jumping off of the ladder. Having a pool sure makes it easier to spend time outdoors on such hot days!
